The Windows technical preview is out this week so I'm going to see what the reviews are like for that and if it's stable, I'm going to install that on this machine.

And I've had issues with this same update on 3 out of the 4 family PCs I manage. Every time I have another go at installing the update, it takes a couple of hours' time. I've invested (wasted) so much time on it. To be honest, I'm starting to think I'm done with Windows 8.1 on this machine.
